IBM has announced an RS/6000 hardware bundle aimed at the enterprise resource planning (ERP) and data warehousing market. The HA-S70 Advanced Cluster Server bundle comes with two S70 servers linked via IBM?s High Availability Cluster Multiprocessor (HACMP) software. The S70 is IBM?s newest RS/6000 variant, while the S70 Advanced bundle has a faster input/output bus and up to 32Gb of memory capacity. IBM also launched an SP System Attachment Adapter, a hardware switch for linking S70 clusters to the supercomputer SP RS/6000 series at very high speeds.
