Web address registrar Network Solutions (NSI) is poised to launch an online service to enable users to search its vast database of Web sites.
Dot Com Directory will enable customers to search through NSI's portfolio of 1.8 million registered businesses and pinpoint companies based on categories such as Web address, type of business, phone number, revenue and even number of employees.
A company spokesperson said: "We are at the final stages of testing the database and will very shortly launch the directory." Businesses that have registered their Net address with NSI will be entitled to a free listing, but those that are registered with a competitor will have to pay a fee.
