Document management firm Documentum has acquired Relevance Technologies, which specialises in software for searching unstructured information such as text and Web pages.
Documentum paid $36.5 million for its new subsidiary and will integrate the two technologies in an attempt to win share of the emerging 'knowledge chain management' sector.
The company also announced a 64 per cent leap in second quarter revenue to reach $28.4 million, with net income up 119 per cent to $3.2 million.
