Apple Computer is treading a thin line, alienating former allies and friends. It plans to generate more money from clone manufacturers, including the PowerPC gang, not least of which is IBM Corp. Commentators say that a recent 10% hike on Mac OS licences may jeopardise future deals on Tempo, the next OS release.
