Racal, the UK electronics giant, is reported to be talking to potential buyers for its telecomms unit.
The speculation follows Racal's announcement of a huge net loss of $235.76 million for its fiscal year. Last year, Racal bosses confirmed they wanted to float the Telecom company, ending months of indecision.
However, reports in the weekend press suggest Racal is now seeking a trade sale and is hoping to raise #800 million.
Energis and Scottish Telecom have been named as potential buyers.
Racal recently sold its datacomms unit to Los Angeles based Platinum Equity Holdings for #47.5 million.
