Universal Pictures plans to make a film about misfit Seattle-based Microsoft programmers after acquiring the rights to the book, Microserfs.
Written by Douglas Coupland, the story is about a group of programmers who are slaves to Microsoft and try to ?have a life? in the fast lane of high technology.
Financial details of the deal have not been disclosed while negotiations with Bill Gates to use the Microsoft name are not yet finalised.
