Telecommunications giant Cable and Wireless has signed a £46.5 million hardware supply contract with Compaq. Under the three-year contract, Compaq will supply desktop and laptop PCs along with various other products to C&W's worldwide operations. Compaq has agreed to deliver guaranteed levels of global service and support via International Computer Group, a Compaq systems reseller. The contract will be managed in the UK by Computacenter. The deal is not exclusive, but Compaq said its machines are already the most widely used at C&W.
