Implementation of voice over frame relay may be a step closer as the Frame Relay Forum prepares to announce a standardised implementation agreement. The real benefit to users is the low cost of voice over frame, and if the Forum announces an agreement at the Networld show this week, as expected, it would allay some user scepticism about the existing, proprietary implementations. It might even persuade service providers to implement public voice networks over frame. To date, they?ve been reluctant to do so.
