Japanese company Toshiba has warned its shareholders that its profits will be far lower than last year.
Profits are likely to be 92 per cent less than last year, putting a further strain on the whole Japanese economy.
The downturn is also expected to impact Toshiba's partners - many of them Korean - which make equipment branded under its name.
