Global Media has named Jeff Mandelbaum, former vice president of Media Systems Sales for RealNetworks, as its president and director.
Michael Metcalfe, the Internet ecommerce and streaming media tool provider's chairman said he expected Mandelbaum to take Global Media to the next level.
"He will be instrumental in building Global Media's strategy for the business to business sector," he explained.
But Mandelbaum said that the video space would look fundamentally differenct within two years. "We see a host of new experiences for us as broadband gets more prevalent, widespread and cost effective. It will be a richer consumer experience. We will bulk the company up and take it to the next level," he claimed.
He continued that the firm planned to expand internationally, targeting Europe first, followed by Asia and Latin America in less than 12 months. "This is a natural extension of our reach outside of North America," he said.
