
Joe McNally named as Compaq/Digital UK managing director
Compaq's UK managing director, Joe McNally, was named last week as the managing director of the combined Compaq and Digital operations in the UK. McNally set up Compaq UK in 1984. He said announcements on job cuts and the new management team would be made next month. Chris Conway, managing director of Digital, will stay on at the new firm in a European role, McNally confirmed. The combined UK operations of the merged companies will have a workforce of 4,800 people.
