While he may have been initially slow to recognise its potential, Microsoft chairman Bill Gates is now a firm convert to the virtues of the Internet. At a conference in London today, he declared it will become the main way companies do business in the future.
Speaking at the annual ?Wall Street Journal Europe? conference, Gates said companies should take the Internet as a given factor and it was up to them to make their presence felt on the World Wide Web.
However, he said it was down to IT companies to create devices that everyone could use to make the Internet more accessible, if it was to exploit its full potential. Such devices will be available in the next few years, he claimed.
