Esprit has unveiled its fibre optic network between London and Paris, the first live segment of its pan-European broadband network. Running at 2.5Gbps the network will carry Esprit's own traffic as well as used to offer retail and wholesale products.
Further segments of the network will be launched in 1999, the first of which will be an extension of the London-Paris ring through Brussels, Amsterdam, then back to the UK.
