Mark Abrams, managing director at Sage and IBM reseller Myratech.net, was clearly in celebratory mood. As revealed in Computer Reseller News (29 March), the VAR floated on the Alternative Investment Market with a market cap of £35.8m. Abrams bought the firm 10 years ago from his maths teacher. But you don't need to teach maths to add up that £35m is a lot of money. Some Myratec staff will get stock options. Let's hope Abrams is more generous than he was with the champagne - he seems intent on spraying it around, racing driver-style, leaving his staff with empty glasses.
