Sun has posted the final beta of its HotJava Browser version 1.0 on its Web site at www.javasoft.com. The browser is based on JavaSoft's HotJava component-based code and includes HTML support and a customisable Java user interface. New features can be added by integrating Java applets into the browser's infrastructure. The product, which is due to ship later this month, includes support for version 1.1 of the Java Development Kit, signed applet support, HTTP authentication for password protected sites, and Secure Socket Layer.
