Cyrix is to supply microprocessors to terminal maker Wyse Technology, the Intel clonemaker's first move into the corporate market.
Although most terminals currently run on Risc processors, many suppliers are expected to move to the Intel x86 architecture and should provide a rich source of pickings for the clonemakers such as Cyrix and AMD.
The trend will be driven by the upcoming release of Microsoft's Hydra terminal software, which is expected to create a boom in the thin client and terminal sector. Hydra will ship this month at PC Expo.
