French telecomms equipment supplier Alcatel said it will acquire additional communications software companies in the coming months.
Serge Tchuruk, Alcatel's chief executive, told French newspaper, Le Figaro, that such acquisitions would be relatively low cost.
The manufacturer earlier this month announced it would purchase Milpitas, California based Assured Access, a vendor of remote access equipment, for $350 million in cash, and data networking firm, Xylan, for $2 billion.
