Hewlett-Packard has launched a World Cup Web site to provide information about the technology in use at this year's World Cup and to offer Internet users a VRML tour of the football stadiums in use.
The site, www.hp.com/worldcup98, details how EDS and HP have supplied the numerous information systems that will administer the 1998 World Cup that takes place in France this year.
Information on how to purchase tickets will be available but the site will not sell tickets on-line because of the potential conflicts with existing ticket and travel agencies the company said, even though the technology to do so was available.
