Easy software upgrades and discounted products are the incentives on offer to Mac customers in the Apple Club, the company's first Internet commerce venture. For an annual fee of $20, subscribers to the Apple Club service will receive discounts on Apple products, extended warranty schemes and a monthly message from chairman Gil Amelio among other offerings. The new on-line store is not intended to compete with traditional sales channels, insist Apple spokespeople. Third party products will not be available from the Apple Club, but this position may change in the future.
