Blade server company RackSaver has acquired software developer MPI Software Technology and renamed itself Verari Systems.
MPI provides high-performance software products and services for managing parallel and cluster computers.
Verari said the integration of MPI's "proven and top-selling software suites" would be a critical focus area.
By acquiring MPI, Verari said it would strengthen its existing manageability suite and gain access to an elite group of expert developers in the "demanding field of parallel programming environments".
MPI users include the supercomputers at the National Center for Supercomputing Applications and the Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory.
