Informix forms Peoplesoft business unit
By Lucy Ness
Database supplier Informix has formed a Peoplesoft business development unit to boost the market penetration of solutions based on its database and Peoplesoft's business applications.
Engineers and other technical personnel will be located at Peoplesoft and Informix offices around the world to help customers evaluate, tune, test and maintain Peoplesoft client/server applications that run on the Informix database.
The first deliverable from the new unit will be a Quick-Start Consulting programme, designed to help customers implement Informix-based Peoplesoft applications more quickly. And development efforts are underway to create data warehousing templates for the Peoplesoft Financials application.
Peoplesoft packages will be among the first applications to be certified by Informix for use with its Universal Server database, which will launch next week.
