Microsoft has posted Extensible Stylesheet Language (XSL) tools on its Web site to enable users to experiment with the technology, while the software giant attempts to get it ratified as a standard by the World Wide Web Consortium.
XSL enables structured Extensible Markup Language (XML) data to be formatted for the Web and Microsoft's XSL Commandline Utility generates HTML by flowing XML data through an XSL style sheet. The XSL ActiveX Control enables the output to be displayed in a Web browser.
