IBM has announced the IBM Network Utility, for IP and SNA integration.
Priced at under #2 per simultaneous session, it offers users up to a 40% cost saving over comparable products. Network Utility is available in two models, the TN1 TN3270e Server for seamlessly integrating SNA and IP and the Model TX1 Transport for moving network traffic with high processing requirements through concentration points. It is designed for customers with SNA applications that must accommodate increasing IP user connections and is one way for companies to increase the number of user connections without disrupting data centre operations. Network Utility will be available from 28 August.
