Computer Associates (CA) plans to add Internet and intelligent agent support to its Unicenter TNG systems management applications suite over the course of this year.
By the end of the year, customers will be able to use and access Unicenter from a Web browser, while Java-based applications will be able to invoke TNG functions. The product will also be more tightly integrated with Web-based merchant servers such as Microsoft's Commerce Server to enable users to monitor specific transactions.
TNG will also offer more agent capabilities to monitor third party hardware devices such as telecomms switches and environmental devices such as thermometers in computer rooms.
CA also plans to provide tools to automate the writing of business processes and policies next year.
