Yesterday IBM showed off a Thinkpad notebook running on thin Pentium II technology, barely a week after it slashed 30 per cent off the prices of its existing models.
The Thinkpad 600 will compete with products from Digital Equipment, which have practically captured the market for slimline notebooks.
IBM refused to comment on unannounced products.
