QMS took the plunge into the multifunction device market last week with the launch of the OfficeLaser 6PCF. This is the first time the printer manufacturer has entered the MFD (multifunction device) market. The 6PCF combines fax, printing, scanning and copying capabilities, and is designed for departmental office use. The product uses the same print engine found in the QMS Desk-Laser 600 printer and delivers a throughput of six pages per minute (ppm) at a resolution of 600 dots per inch (dpi). The fax speed is 14.4kps, the same as that of most dedicated fax machines. Faxes can be received into memory while the machine is printing other documents. Scanning speeds are up to 6ppm, at resolutions of up to 400dpi. The OfficeLaser 6PCF costs #645. QMS: 01784 442255.
