Canadian contact management author Multiactive Software is set to launch what it claims is the first contact management program with Ecommerce capability, in the UK this week.
As well as managing contacts, Maximiser 5.0 also helps users to build and update their own Web sites, going through 10 easy steps to setting it up.
"One of the difficulties with having sites is maintaining them," said a spokeswoman for the company. "Currently, people either commission companies to do their Web pages for them, or they have to spend a lot of time researching HTML. This is either costly or really time consuming, because the technology is all so new to people."
Once the site is created, it can be hosted for free in Maximizer's online community or it can be uploaded to the user's own ISP.
Maximiser 5.0 is aimed at small to medium businesses and corporate departments.
The product contains a new feature enabling users to store the contacts they receive from sales and enquiries directly into its contact database.
This feature was designed to avoid losing out on potential sales.
"It is sort of a successor to Maximizer 97, but the two products will be sold side by side because not everyone wants to build their own Web sites," explained the spokeswoman.
Maximizer 97 costs from #149, while Maximizer 5.0 is priced at #149 for a single user, going up to #895 for 10 users. Upgrades are also available for #79.
The product is shipping now.
