Oracle may buy Apple this week, according to strong rumours in Silicon Valley. According to Valley insiders, a draft merger document has been prepared for submission to the US Securities and Exchange Commission and is currently being considered by the management teams at both companies. It is claimed that lawyers representing both parties have been seen at the respective headquarters of both companies. If the speculation is accurate, an announcement could be imminent. Both Oracle and Apple refused to comment on the reports. However, the rumours gathered strength when it was revealed that Apple will make an announcement this week that it has said will have a major impact on the way the firm operates. Although none of them have been told what the strategy will entail, Apple employees have been instructed to watch the briefing on internal monitors. "We're getting ready to unveil some very important and very exciting changes, not only to our product line, but to the way we do business," ran a memo from Steve Jobs. "We've been thinking differently about everything we do and I really believe our work is about to pay off."
