Hewlett Packard is to expand its US direct selling service, providing midrange and high end Pavilion PCs and monitors online via its HP Shopping Village. HP did not reveal plans for further direct sales in Europe, but said surveys of US customers showed that 20 per cent of hi-tech purchases are now done directly from the manufacturer, increasingly over the Net.
