Lenovo unveils enterprise all-in-one and compact workstations
ThinkCentre M90z integrates a full business PC inside a 23in flat-screen

Lenovo has introduced its first all-in-one enterprise desktop PC, along with new ultra-compact workstations designed for environments where space is at a premium.
Available immediately from Lenovo partners and online later this month, the ThinkCentre M90z integrates a full specification desktop PC inside a 23in flat-screen display, resulting in a smaller system footprint and less cable clutter.
The screen supports touch input using Lenovo's SimpleTap interface, while a VGA input lets the unit double as a monitor for a laptop, according to the firm.
The new system is based on Intel Core i3 or Core i5 processors with a choice of hard drives or a Flash solid state drive, DVD player and optional Wi-Fi and Bluetooth wireless interfaces.
Lenovo said that the M90z includes the standard manageability features required by enterprise customers, along with Lenovo's ThinkVantage technologies. Prices start at £820.
Meanwhile, the ThinkStation C20 and C20x workstations are designed for environments such as financial trading floors, where number-crunching performance is required but space is often constrained.
The C20 is available in a compact desktop chassis, while the C20x is designed for rack mounting, with up to 14 slotting into a standard 42U rack.
Both models are dual-socket systems based on Intel Xeon 5600 processors with up to 96GB memory, and can fit twin Nvidia graphics cards, enabling up to eight monitors to be connected, according to Lenovo. Pricing starts at £1,691 for the ThinkStation C20.
Lenovo also announced two monitors with interesting extra capabilities. The Lenovo L2230x Wide, available in July for £210, is a 21.5in display with a built-in port replicator for a laptop. It supports USB peripherals and an Ethernet port for connection to a local area network.
Finally, the ThinkVision L2321x Wide, available in July for £240, supports a split screen mode that lets the user treat it as two separate monitors, showing a full PowerPoint presentation on one part of the display and a second application on the other, for example.
