Juniper Networks, the start-up funded by Lucent, Nortel and 3Com, has finally introduced the industry?s first Internet backbone router.
Called the M40, it boasts the performance of traditional switches with software based routing features and runs at 40 million packets per second.
The product also features the Junos software, a routing operating system for Internet control.
