Web software company Marimba described the long running lawsuit filed by software company Novadigm as "baseless and without merit" this week. Marimba has up to now remained silent on the suit, which was filed because of a patent dispute in November 1996. On Wednesday, Novadigm went public on the suit, alleging that the technology in dispute was part of a proposed standard that Marimba has submitted, along with Netscape and others, to the World Wide Web Consortium (see Wednesday's stories).
