New wireless communications devices from Ericsson and Motorola pulled in the punters at CeBIT last week. Ericsson launched the second in its line of EPOC-based devices, the R380 Smartphone. It can be used to check Email, receive Internet content, manage a diary, and send and receive faxes. The R380 is a standard mobile phone size with a flip-top keypad with touch screen and handwriting recognition facilities. The R380 will not be available until 2000 and Ericsson has released no pricing details.
