Oftel has ordered BT to increase its Chargecard tariffs to enable more players to compete in this space. The telecomms watchdog said the price increases will allow other operators to compete on equal price terms, especially for residential customers.
Calls using BT Chargecard costs on average 11 pence per minute. Oftel believes BT is running its Chargecard business at a loss, with significant losses on inland calls.
