Psion will unveil its Series 5 palmtop unit on 16 June as the precursor to a project allowing handheld organisers to access corporate data.
The Series 5, according to an insider at the company, will come with Psion's Epoc/32 operating system and be ported to the ARM processor platform. It will be equipped with either 4Mb or 8Mb of memory and an optional PC card adaptor.
Psion will also release version 2.0 of its Psi Win software. Although this came bundled with the Series 3 family, there have been problems associated with its use.
The unit is part of Psion's broad attack against Microsoft's Windows CE platform, which threatens its position in the palmtop market.
