[email protected] has acquired Imall, which helps businesses set up ecommerce Web sites, in a stock swap valuing the firm at $425 million.
[email protected] has also signed a deal with First Data Merchant Services' First Data subsidiary so it can provide merchants with an ecommerce storefront and hopes the transactions will enable it to attract more merchants to its consumer based shopping service.
The First Data/Imall products will be marketed to businesses through @Work, Excit[email protected]'s business to business unit, which provides Internet access and hosting facilities. Excite claims this will give [email protected] exposure to two million merchant locations.
