4-Sight and Wam!Net have announced the companies are to merge in a transaction worth $40 million (#24.5 million). These companies are two of the biggest in the graphic communications market - Wam! Net in high-bandwidth applications and managed network services, and 4-Sight in ISDN dial-up products. The combined company will be able to offer simple dial-up at 50Mb an hour throughput to managed services at more than 2,000Mb an hour. The merger will enable the customers of both companies to exchange files from a shared front end, from June.
