Anti-Microsoft vigilante Anthony Martin has lobbied the US courts to block the software giant?s takeover of Web TV.
Martin, a veteran anti-Microsoft campaigner who a Florida judge once said may have ?a serious character defect?, insists he is standing against Microsoft for the public interest. ?We don?t want Microsoft to use their technology to injure others,? he said.
Microsoft representative Greg Shaw dismissed Martin?s campaign. ?We don?t view him as credible and his press release does not warrant comment.?
An attorney by trade, Martin?s non-profit Committee to Fight Microsoft has had limited success in previous attempts to damage Microsoft. In 1995 he issued damning press releases about Windows 95?s ability to run on PCs with 4Mb of Ram. Martin is not funded or supported by Microsoft?s competitors in the IT industry.
