Forte has started beta testing its WebEnterprise add-on to version 3.0 of its Forte Application Environment. The product automatically generates JavaBean interfaces so the components can access Forte application services and support the Object Management Group's Internet Interorb Protocol (IIOP) to enable Corba-compliant objects and Java applets to communicate with each other.
It also supports session and state management, so the Forte application can monitor when users access an application from a browser, and what they do with it, so as to prevent conflict between users. WebEnterprise will ship by the end of the year, costing $15,000 per site licence or free to existing Forte users.
