Cyrix is suing chip rival Intel for alleged patent infringements.
It claims in the suit that Intel Pentium, Pentium Pro and Pentium II processors infringe "one or both patents issued to Cyrix on 13 May, 1997".
The company is seeking preliminary and permanent injunctive relief along with unspecified damages and fees.
Intel said the case was without merit and that it would defend itself vigorously.
Cyrix' lawsuit is the second to land on Intel's doorstep in 24 hours. Digital Equipment filed suit on Tuesday for violations of 10 Digital patents.
