Software company Baan, often quoted by hardware vendors as a mover and shaker in the corporate enterprise planning (ERP) market will today announce upgrades.
But it is likely that Europe will not hear about the product offerings until some weeks later.
According to US magazine Infoworld, the revision of its software product called Baan Series will make upgrades easier.
Baan Europe today refused to comment on the announcement, saying that the whole purpose of its launch was to tell the US what it was doing.
But although Baan is likely to introduce object oriented products conforming to the Corba model, it will not be until June that the vertical areas it covers will benefit from the fresh technologies.
Other elements of the Baan technology will include graphics navigation, a business modelling tool and other components aimed at large corporations.
