Oracle is teaming up with Hewlett Packard to bring preconfigured business systems to midsized companies.
The combined offering will consist of NT and Unix servers from HP, running a selection of Oracle ERP applications including manufacturing and financial management. The systems will come with consultancy from Oracle Consulting Services or from companies such as KPMG and Ernst & Young.
Initially, the bundle will be based on HP Netserver LXr Pro servers running Windows NT. The same software will later also be offered on HP 9000 Enterprise Servers running HP/UX Unix.
The solutions will be sold both by HP?s and Oracle?s channel partners. Exact pricing has not yet been determined.
For the moment, the offer will be available only in the US. Oracle spokesperson Valerie Bellofatto said that Europe will follow in a few months.
