When Intel introduces its Deschutes family of processors on 26 January, it may can the 200MHz Socket Seven chip, a top UK distributor believes.
Said Mark Davison, processor manager at Datrontech: "I would not be at all surprised to see the 200MHz disappear very quickly."
He said that Intel had an aggressive plan to move the entire market to the Pentium II platform.
