Microsoft will release a fix to the problem with Word in Microsoft Office 97 to read previous versions of Office in July, the company confirmed today.
That problem will allow corporate users to access a number of files held on their business databases using the corporate Word standard.
A representative said: ?We?ve had a service pack for some time but that only addressed one or two issues. The full release will not be out until July.?
But that news was greeted with dismay by Brian Green, senior product manager at ALR UK. He said: ?This will cause a major problem for our corporate customers. We will have to advise them to use Windows 95.?
