3Com announced record sales of $829.9 million (#503 million) last week for the fourth quarter ended 31 May, but warned it would be hard pressed to continue the same growth pattern over the next few months.
Company CEO, Eric Benhamou, attributed the 26% rise in fourth quarter sales to growing demand for Ethernet and fast Ethernet switches and for products which deliver more bandwidth. Net income for the quarter was $89.2 million, compared to $82.5 million last time. 3Com's year-end sales were $3.1 billion, a 35% increase over last year's $2.3 billion.
