Reuters has signed up NCR to provide it with a $50.7 million data warehouse running on five NCR Worldmark 5100M MPP servers using the Teradata relational database engine and Microsoft SQL Server. The finished warheouse will enable Reuters to sell financial information on currencies. The Teradata engine will house a large data store while the integration with SQL Server will allow for the creation of data marts. NCR says it will be working to improve the integration between the two database products. An NT version of Teradata is planned for the end of this year.
