Datrontech continued its push to become a pan-European distributor yesterday when it bought Dutch distributor International Computer Products (ICP) for nearly #8 million.
That followed a period of consolidation after Datrontech lost its sole Kingston Technology franchise last year, in a period when the price of memory fluctuated almost from day to day.
ICP distributes components, networking and storage products in the Netherlands. But the company resold its products in both Belgium and the UK and had become active in Denmark and the Federal Republic of Germany.
ICP showed a #616,000 profit to the end of its last financial year in 31 December 1996. Datrontech's acting managing director Mark Mulford said today: "ICP is a successful, well established operation and fits very well within the group."
Datrontech has made a series of western European acquisitions over the past two years.
