Anti-Microsoft allies Sun and Oracle had come still closer, with a deal to bundle the latter's database with Sun's new workgroup server, the Enterprise 450.
The two companies hope the closer relationship will help them battle the increasing growth of systems running Windows NT. With this in mind, they will begin conducting joint sales and marketing operations towards the end of the year.
There will no longer be different pricing for Unix and NT versions of Oracle's products bundled with Sun's systems, the company said.
