Symantec has released version 4.0 of Norton Utilities. The package provides tools for crash protection, registry repair, system optimisation and virus detection. New in this version is the Registry Doctor which automatically detects and repairs problems with Windows' complex registry settings.
Also, the new Connection Doctor helps users solve problems with their modem connection. The company also claims that the updated Speed Disk utility can optimise hard drives to run much more efficiently than the standard Windows Defrag tool. Norton Utilities 4.0 is priced at #39.
