Oracle's chief executive Larry Ellison has been named Executive of the year for 1996 by the San Francisco Business Times newspaper. The honour is awarded to the man or woman who has made the greatest impact on the business community in the Bay Area of San Francisco. Inevitably Ellison was chosen for his success in teh relational database market, but his marketing skills in popularising the network computer concept.
